COVID-19 test kits available

Town residents wishing COVID-19 test kits may obtain them at the Town Office (at no cost).

We have 45 covid “Quick Vue” by QUIDEL boxes with 2 tests in each box, the idea being that the box, both tests, are for the same person, the 2nd one to be done 24 to 36 hours after the first one.

2022 Property Taxes due on or before October 15th

2022 Property Taxes are due on or before October 15, 2022.

Post Marks are not accepted - must be in hand in the town office on October 15, 2022.

If you have not yet mailed your property tax payment, recommend:
Residents - bring to Town Office in person (you may use the mail slot in the front door when not open).

​Non-Residents - suggest using Fed Ex or UPS to get it here on time since mail has been taking more than a week from posting to arrival at town PO Box.

November 8th General Election - VOTE Early - encouraged

All Guildhall registered, active voters should have received the November 8, 2022 General Election Ballot which was mailed by the Secretary of State. If not, call the town clerk during office hours.

You are encouraged to vote early and return your ballot:
- by mail (no later than Oct 24th to ensure timely delivery), or
- by hand using town office front door mail slot, or
- in person when town clerk has office hours, or
- on Election Day.
Remember to place your voted ballot in the Certificate Envelope which you have signed.

If you wish to vote in person on Election Day, November 8, 2022, the polls will be open from 10:00 am until 7:00 PM.
Bring your ballot with you if you choose this option. 
​If you lose or forget your ballot, you will be asked to fill out an Affadavit of No Ballot Cast in order to receive a replacement.

Town building is RE-OPENED to town boards and outside group use.
The Selectboard has resumed in-person meetings in the Meeting Room at the Guild Hall (Town Office).
Masks are voluntary and residents/patrons are encouraged to follow current CDC Guidelines for your vaccination and risk categories.

MRGP 3-9040 Re-Issuance and Public Notice

The Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) hereby provides public notice of the draft General Permit 3-9040 for Stormwater Discharges from Municipal Roads (MRGP).   The draft MRGP covers stormwater discharges from all municipal roads, Classes 1-4.  The MRGP was developed as one of the Act 64, the Vermont Clean Water Act, required programs to improve water quality statewide. The MRGP identifies, prioritizes, and remediates stormwater runoff from municipal roads.
 
Upon issuance of the final MRGP, municipalities are required to submit a Notice of Intent (NOI) to the Agency to obtain coverage under the re-issued MRGP.
 
The public is invited to provide written comment on the draft MRGP starting
September 9, 2022 through the close of business (4:30pm) on October 24, 2022.

Section 401 Water Quality Certification Public Notice

PUBLIC NOTICE OF SECTION 401 WATER QUALITY CERTIFICATION FOR
USACE GENERAL PERMITS FOR THE STATE OF VERMONT

 

The Agency of Natural Resources (Agency) hereby provides public notice of the draft 401 Water Quality Certification for the U.S Army Corps of Engineers' (USACE) August 23, 2022 proposed General Permits (General Permits) for the State of Vermont, contained within NAE-2022-00024.
 
The Agency certifies there is a reasonable assurance that activities eligible for coverage under the General Permits will be conducted in a manner which will not cause a violation of the Vermont Water Quality Standards and will be in compliance with 33 U.S.C. §§ 1311, 1312, 1313, 1316, 1317, and 1341 (Clean Water Act §§ 301, 302, 303, 306, 307, and 401), and other appropriate requirements of State law, provided the conditions set forth in the General Permits and the Certification are met.

A public meeting to receive comments on the draft Section 401 Water Quality Certification will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 6:00 pm. Attend online via Microsoft Teams, by phone (802-828-7667, 353195792#), or at the ANR Annex located at 190 Junction Road, Berlin, VT.
