The
Zoning Administrator is responsible for implementing the Town Plan and the
related zoning bylaws and procedures, including the issuance of building
permits and sub-division approvals.
The
Zoning Board meets whenever there is a need to review conditional use
applications, hear and act on appeals of administrative officer decisions, and
act on requests for variances.

Key Zoning Reminders
Buildings
larger than 4 feet x 6 feet or 24 square feet require a zoning permit.
Currently,
permits are not required for outdoor furnaces.
Should questions surface regarding specific rules, regulations and
enforcement, contact the State of Vermont.
However, if a building is constructed to house the furnace larger than 4
feet X 6 feet, a permit is required for that structure.
All
land development which includes sub-divisions requires a zoning permit.
An
agriculture permit only requires a communication notice based on the Department
of Agriculture and Town Bylaws.
Once
a Zoning Permit is approved, all activation authorized by its issuance shall
not commence prior to 15 days from the date of approval in the event that a
notice of appeal is properly filed. If an appeal is filed, then such permit
shall not take effect until the final appeal is completed.
Please
refer to the Guildhall Zoning Bylaws and Town Plan for further information.
Feel free to call the Zoning Administrator with questions. Your compliance and questions are appreciated.
