PUBLIC NOTICE OF SECTION 401 WATER QUALITY CERTIFICATION FOR
USACE GENERAL PERMITS FOR THE STATE OF VERMONT
The Agency of Natural Resources (Agency) hereby provides public notice of the draft 401 Water Quality Certification for the U.S Army Corps of Engineers' (USACE) August 23, 2022 proposed General Permits (General Permits) for the State of Vermont, contained within NAE-2022-00024.
The Agency certifies there is a reasonable assurance that activities eligible for coverage under the General Permits will be conducted in a manner which will not cause a violation of the Vermont Water Quality Standards and will be in compliance with 33 U.S.C. §§ 1311, 1312, 1313, 1316, 1317, and 1341 (Clean Water Act §§ 301, 302, 303, 306, 307, and 401), and other appropriate requirements of State law, provided the conditions set forth in the General Permits and the Certification are met.

A public meeting to receive comments on the draft Section 401 Water Quality Certification will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 6:00 pm. Attend online via Microsoft Teams, by phone (802-828-7667, 353195792#), or at the ANR Annex located at 190 Junction Road, Berlin, VT.
Written comments on the draft 401 Water Quality Certification will be accepted through Friday, October 21, 2022 via email to: [email protected] or mail to: Watershed Management Division, Attn: 401 Coordinator, 1 National Life Drive, Davis 3, Montpelier, VT 05620-3522.
