Census Bureau delivering forms

WHAT, SPECIFICALLY, CENSUS STAFF WILL BE DOING IN THE FIELD
Field staff are resuming delivery of census invitations and questionnaires to residential addresses that haven’t received them. They are not yet starting the operation that conducts in-person interviews with households that haven’t responded.

• Field staff will be delivering census materials to any residential address that has not yet obtained an invitation to respond.  This operation, also known as Update Leave, is done in areas where the majority of households do not receive mail at their home.
• Update Leave field operations do not involve contact with home owners or residents. Census staff will canvass an Update Leave area for residential locations people might live, update/confirm their address list, and leave a packet at the front door that contains a census questionnaire and information about how to respond online, by mail, or by phone.

To re-emphasize, our priority through this process is the health and safety of your community members and our staff.  We will continually monitor local conditions and, as always, I will keep you informed of any and all operational adjustments.  I welcome you to email me with any questions you may have.
