The Board of Civil Authority will hold its traditional pre-election meeting on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at 5:30 p.m., at the Guild Hall.
1. Any eligible person who wants to vote in the Nov. 6 election in Guildhall and is not currently registered must do so by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at the Guild Hall. The Town Office will be open from 3 to 5 p.m. on that day for the purpose of receiving applications.
2. The deadline to request absentee ballots for the Nov. 6 election is Monday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m. The Town Office will be open from 3 to 5 p.m. on that day for the purpose of receiving requests. 3. Reminder: Any absentee ballots requested must be returned to the Town Clerk by the close of polls on Election Day to be counted (the polls close at 7 p.m. on that day). The second Bulky Day of 2012 will be Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Guild Hall, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The setup will be the same as the last Bulky Day: there will be a dumpster for metal, a dumpster for most nonmetal items, and a truck for electronics, tires, and CFLs (compact fluorescent lightbulbs).
