This allows residents to dispose of large items and dangerous/toxic substances not accepted for curbside pickup.
There will be two dumpsters for bulky items and one for metal. Bulky Day concludes at noon or when dumpsters are full, whichever is sooner. BRING YOUR BALLOT, if you still have it. If you do not have your ballot, you will need to sign an Affadavit of No Vote Cast. You will then be given a replacement ballot to vote. Per Board of Civil Authority, rules/procedures for in-person voting: In order to keep you and our poll workers as safe as possible on Election Day on November 3, 2020, the following procedures will be in effect for those voters who choose to cast their vote in person. 1. Upon arriving at the town office (Polling Place), enter through the Front Door to check in (or Accessible Entrance, if need be). We request that you wear a mask, as will we. 2. One voter or voting family will be admitted to the Polls at one time. Social distancing will be practiced. If there are voters ahead of you, you will be asked to wait outside. In the event of rain, we will have 6 foot spacing in the meeting room waiting area or you can wait in your car. 3. The Entrance Checklist poll worker will check you in. Please state your name clearly (Statutory Requirement). If you do not have your ballot with you, you will be asked to sign the Affadavit of No Vote Cast and then given a replacement ballot. 4. If you have your ballot and you have already marked your choices, you will proceed directly to the Exit Checklist. Please state your name clearly (Statutory Requirement) and then deposit your ballot in the Ballot Box. 5. If you have, or been given, a blank ballot, you will be directed to one of two voting booths to mark the ballot. After marking the ballot of your choice, proceed to the Exit Checklist. Please state your name clearly (Statutory Requirement) and then deposit your ballot in the Ballot Box. We will be disinfecting the booths after each use. 6. Voters will exit by way of the Accessible Entrance. Pollng Place Rules 1. No Campaigning - signs or solicitation - on Town property. 2. You may watch the Polls as per State Statute from the designated space in the Meeting Room. Masks and Social Distancing will be necessary for everyone's safety. Voting Early is the best way to stay safe during the ongoing pandemic.
105 Guildhall Voters have already returned their ballot. With 5 days before Election Day the Secretary of State is recommending that you hand deliver your ballot in order to ensure that it will arrive on or before Election Day and be counted. Mark your ballot, place it in the Certificate Envelope which you fill out and sign, place it in the Return Envelope and bring it to the Town Office. Come by the Town Office at any time and slip the Return Envelope through the mail slot in the front door. Or Bring your voted ballot in the signed Certificate Envelope to the Polls on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 between 10 am and 7 PM and hand it to the Entry Checklist poll worker. If you wish, of course, to come to the Polls on Election Day and vote in a polling booth, you may do so. Please bring your ballot with you. If you have misplaced, thrown out, or never received a ballot, you will be asked to complete an Affadavit of No Ballot Cast and given a replacement ballot to vote. VOTE EARLY - Stay Safe - if at all possible.
If you mail - do it no later than this Saturday, Oct 24th to be sure the ballot arrives on or before Election Day on Tuesday, November 3rd so that it can be included in the counting. You can also bring the BALLOT in the SIGNED CERTIFICATE ENVELOPE and RETURN ENVELOPE to the Town Office. I am in the office working Tuesday 9-5 and Thursday 10-6 and can receive it in person (knock on the door). You can also slip it in the mail slot in the front door. All received ballots are recorded in the Vermont Election Management System and you can confirm receipt by signing in to your MyVoterPage at https://mvp.vermont.gov/. The ballot remains sealed in the signed certificate envelope in the town vault. On Election Day it will be opened anonymously in the presence of two poll workers and deposited in the ballot box. |
