Since, due to an error on the part of the Town Clerk, the availability of the office of Road Commissioner was not posted on the Town website, the deadline has been extended for submitting petitions and consent forms for the office of Road Commissioner: the deadline for turning in petitions and consent forms to the Town Clerk for this office is now Thu., Feb. 7, 2013, at noon.
The Town Clerk apologizes for any inconvenience his error might have caused. The Town of Guildhall is now taking prepayment orders for copies of the “History of Guildhall, Vermont”. This book, written in 1975 by Pat Rogers and published in that year by the Town of Guildhall Bicentennial Committee, has long been out of print, but local bookbinders, under contract with the Town, are making a limited number of copies available. Your check of $60.00 (made payable to the Town of Guildhall) reserves you a copy. (Please note that this book is different from the "History of Guildhall, Vermont" that E.C. Benton published in the early 1900s. The Benton history is currently available for purchase at the Town Office).
The Guildhall School Board will meet on Friday, January 25, 2013, at 9 a.m., at the Guild Hall, for a special meeting. There are two major agenda items: the first is interviews for candidates for the School Director vacancy; the second is discussion of a $100,000 note for the Town.
The Board of Selectmen will meet on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at 7 p.m., at the Guild Hall, for its regularly scheduled meeting.
Any legal voter of the Town of Guildhall who wishes to appear on the ballot for the upcoming Town Officer election (to be held 3/5/2013) must turn in the required paperwork to the Town Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2012. The Town Office will be open from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on 1/28/2012 for the purpose of receiving petitions.
Two pieces of paperwork are required of candidates: the “consent of candidate” form and the “petition” form. Both forms can be obtained at the Town Office or online at http://www.sec.state.vt.us/townmeeting/info_candidates.html. The Town of Guildhall will hold its annual budget meeting on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at 7 p.m., at the Guild Hall.
The Guildhall School Board will meet on Thursday, 1/3/2012, at 6 p.m., at the Guildhall School. The meeting will include the following items: call to order; citizens and staff to be heard; approval of minutes; correspondence; lead teacher report; FY14 budget deliberative session and warning; setting the next agenda; and adjournment.
