Saturday, June 18, 2011 will be the first of two Bulky Days held in Guildhall this year (the second will be held on Saturday, November 5th). The event will last from 8 a.m. to noon. The event is limited to Guildhall residents only. Examples of acceptable materials include, but are not limited to, the following: mattresses, box springs, rugs, carpet, treated wood, couches, chairs, toilets, sinks, sheetrock, fiberglass, painted wood, and shingles.
Please note that this event will also include hazardous waste collection; this part of the event is open to any residents of the Northeast Kingdom Waste Management District. Examples of hazardous waste include, but are not limited to, ammonia, mothballs, mercury thermometers, car batteries, dioxins, pesticides, rat poison, antifreeze, waste oil and filters, and CFLs. Please do not include alkaline batteries (place these in the regular trash), asbestos, gun powder or other explosives, live ammunition, flares, infectious waste, latex paint (please dry out the paint and throw the solid paint away in the regular trash), prescription drugs, radioactive waste, smoke detectors, unknown gas cylinders, and empty containers.
