RMF June 25 Notice
Select Board establishes a “Salt Shed” committee At its June meeting, the Select Board established a “Salt Shed” committee and voted to approve its Charge (see Town Website RMF page). The purpose of the committee is to study possible sites that the Town might be able to use for a Road Maintenance Facility (RMF) and report back to the Select Board at its October 2013 meeting on the options. The RMF committee members are Pat Rogers, Chair; George Blakeslee, Co-Chair; Rich Burgess, Secretary; Roger Brisson; and Henry Shute. Residents and property owners are invited to contact or email the committee members to share their suggestions and concerns. A site visit to Carroll Concrete is scheduled for Saturday, June 29 at 10 AM. A site visit to Peaslee Farm is scheduled for Saturday, June 29 at 11 AM. The next scheduled committee meeting is Thursday, July 25 at 7 PM at the Guildhall. A schedule of additional meetings and public information sharing sessions will be announced and posted. All committee meetings and site visits are open to the public. Notice is hereby given to the residents of the Town of Guildhall, VT that the Guildhall Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the Guild Hall on Wed., June 26, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. This hearing will be held for public review of and comment on the proposed revisions to the Guildhall Town Plan and the Guildhall Zoning Bylaw pursuant to Title 24 VSA, Chapter 117.
The purpose of the proposed Guildhall Town Plan is to provide for the future growth and development of the Town of Guildhall in a manner that is fiscally and environmentally responsible. The purpose of the Guildhall Zoning Bylaw is to implement the land use goals and recommendations of the town plan. The proposed Guildhall Town Plan and Zoning Bylaw, if and when adopted, will affect all lands within the Town of Guildhall. Copies of the Town Plan and Zoning Bylaw will be available at the Town Clerk’s Office. Comments may be submitted in writing to: Guildhall Planning Commission (c/o Sam Swope, Town Clerk), P.O. Box 10, Guildhall, VT 05905. A Zoning Permit has been posted at the Guild Hall and can be inspected by the public at any time. The permit is for improvements to a property owned by Richard and Muriel Martin (parcel I.D. # 102-2280f).
Jay Craven's film "Northern Borders" will be shown at the Guild Hall on Monday, June 24, at 7:30 p.m., as part of the '100 Town Tour'. Ticket prices are as follows: $6 for children under 18; $12 for adults under 65; $10 for adults 65 and over.
A special School Board meeting will be held on Monday, 6.17.2013, at the Guildhall Elementary School, at 6 p.m. The agenda can be found here.
In accordance with state law, the 2013 Consumer Confidence Report for the Guildhall Water System has been posted at the Guildhall Town Office and mailed to all water users. Copies are available upon request.
This Saturday, June 15, is the first of this year's two Bulky Days. The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon at the Guild Hall. Bulky Day is an opportunity for residents to dispose of large items not suitable for weekly trash pickup. Feel free to contact the Town Clerk if you have any questions regarding Bulky Day.
