A Zoning Permit has been posted at the Guild Hall and can be inspected by the public at any time. The permit is for improvements to a property owned by Robert Ramsdell (parcel I.D. # 102-8875).
1. The Board of Civil Authority (BCA) will meet on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at 7 p.m., at the Guild Hall, for its traditional pre-election meeting.
2. If you are eligible to vote but are not currently registered and would like to vote in the Town Officer election on 3/4/2014 and/or would like to participate fully in Town Meeting, you must register to vote by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 2.26.2014. The Town Office will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on 2.26.2014 for the purpose of registering new voters. 3. The deadline to request an early/absentee ballot for the Town Officer election is Monday, 3.3.2014, at 5:00 p.m. The Town Office will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on 3.3.2014 for the purpose of receiving requests. 4. If you are voting early/absentee in the Town Officer election, please remember that, in order to be counted, those ballots must be returned to the Town Clerk by 7:00 p.m. on election day (3.4.2014). The Guildhall Public Library is presenting a forum on the new Vermont Health insurance program called Vermont Health Connect on Wednesday, February 12 from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Our local area health care navigator, Ellen Gershun, will be presenting the forum and will be available for questions. She will also be making individual appointments for assistance with the enrollment process for a later date.
Vermont Health Connect offers a new way to choose a health insurance plan for individuals and small businesses in Vermont. Vermont Health Connect is a marketplace where individuals, families and small businesses in Vermont can compare public and private health plans and select one that fits their needs and budget. Every plan offered through Vermont Health Connect will offer basic services including checkups, emergency care, mental health services and prescriptions. Details can be found at vermonthealthconnect.gov Vermont Health Connect will simplify the health insurance world for many Vermonters by serving as the one place to access public programs and financial assistance, such as federal tax credits and cost-sharing subsidies. Starting January, 2014, Individuals, families and small businesses in Vermont will get their health coverage through Vermont Health Connect. This includes: Vermonters who do not have health insurance, Vermonters who currently purchase insurance for themselves, Vermonters who have Medicaid, Dr. Dynasaur, Catamount Health or Vermont Health Access Program (VHAP), Vermonters who are offered “unaffordable” coverage by their employers, and small businesses in Vermont that provide coverage for their employees. This is a chance for anyone with questions about health coverage to have them answered. The forum is free. Come with your questions. The second Cabin Fever concert of the year will take place tomorrow evening, Sat., Feb. 8. The featured performers will be Lee Baker, Katie Rose, and Julia Kamins. Admission is $5.00 at the door. Refreshments will be available for purchase from the Guildhall PTA. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.
Proceeds from the concerts will benefit the Guildhall Public Library, the Guild Hall, the Guildhall Community Church, and Northwoods Hospice. The Guildhall Planning Commission will meet on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at 7 p.m., at the Guild Hall, to consider an application for a Zoning Permit on the Ramsdell property in Guildhall village.
